The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), on September 10, 2026, has issued a Corrigendum to the notification dated June 29, 2026, through which the Employees’ Deposit-Linked Insurance Scheme, 2026 was notified. The corrigendum makes textual and drafting corrections to the originally published Scheme.
The corrections cover various pages and lines, including correction of the reference from “46” to “44”, insertion of a hyphen in “Employees’ Deposit-Linked,” removal of the words “as penalty” in relation to recovery of damages from an employer, and clarification that certain references are to a provident fund exempted under Section 143 of the Code, as applicable. It also clarifies references concerning payments and interest in the Fund or exempted provident fund.
Further corrections include replacing the reference to payment to other eligible family members with payment, as applicable, to other eligible family members or the nominee, correcting the formula from “क+ख-ग” to “1+2-3”, and replacing “प्रतिष्ठान”/“प्रतिष्ठानों” with “स्थापन”/“स्थापनों” at the relevant places. These are corrigendum-level textual corrections to the 2026 Scheme and do not, from the text provided, introduce a separate substantive scheme or new compliance requirement.
